Acts 2:42 Ministries International

Acts 2:42 Ministries International was launched in January 2011 by Star Ferdinand. Star began missionary service in Tegucigalpa, Honduras in June 2011. The work has been interrupted for nine months while Star attends The Spanish Language Institute in San Jose, Costa Rica, from August 2011 to April 2012, followed by a short trip back to the United States.

By June of 2012, God willing, Star plans to fully engage in the work of Acts 2:42 Ministries International. Star will partner with members of the Iglesia Misionera de Cristo and other local churches to accomplish the ministry’s mission. In addition, dozens of people from several churches in the United States are serving as ministry prayer partners.

In all that we do, we seek to honor God and follow His leading.

Our Mission

Acts 2-42 Ministry logo
The mission of Acts 2:42 Ministries International comes from Acts 2:42:

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. -Acts 2:42 (NKJV)

Bible study Lead Bible studies and teach others how to study the Bible.

Tools and methods we will use

And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.- 2 Timothy 2:2 (NIV)

Fellowship Establish small groups through which the members share life, developing deep relationships as they work together in service to Christ.

Tools and methods we will use

We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us. – 1 Thessalonians 2:8 (NIV)

“Is church a specific place where individuals gather once a week to sing a few songs and listen to someone talk about God, or does church refer to the people themselves, who share a common mission in the world? Maybe if we start to view church the way God designed it, as a family loving each other and living and sharing all of life together, we might show the world a glimpse of who God is, and we might begin to impact the world as God intended us to do.” -Francis Chan

Breaking Bread Encourage small groups to share a meal in conjunction with their Bible studies and to regularly partake of the Lord’s Supper with their church family.

Tools and methods we will use

  • Small groups
  • Meals around the table
  • Communion with the whole church

“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.’” -Luke 22:19-20 (NIV)

“What is communion really all about? Is it just a ritual that we’re supposed to repeat from time to time, or is it intended to be a continual reminder among us that we are on a mission together? Maybe Jesus told us to remember this way because He knew that living on a mission can be hard, and that we need to help each other remember if we are going to accomplish what He has called us to do.” -Francis Chan

Prayer Foster prayer among the groups for each other, our neighbors, our leaders, and unreached peoples around the world.

Tools and methods we will use

“Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” -Matthew 6:10 (NIV)
