How You Can Help

Pray
Praying is the best thing you can do to help me on the journey to which God has called me. I need your prayers during good times and bad. There will be difficult times. Lest you think the difficult times are the only times when I need your prayers, remember that it is in the good times that we all have a tendency to look to ourselves instead of to God. I don’t ever want to do that, no matter what the circumstances. Please join me in prayer for God’s will to be done in me and through me.
Every step in the progress of missions is directly traceable to prayer. -A.T. Pierson
I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. -Romans 15:30 (NIV)

| God’s love and wisdom to be upon me, so that through my service, God will show His love to the people of Honduras. | Please pray for me today. |

Give
I will be using my retirement accounts to pay the majority of my expenses in Honduras; however, I need to raise an additional $300 a month for my monthly living expenses during 2012. Expenses in 2013 and beyond will be higher, due to inflation. I anticipate there will also periodically be special needs for particular projects. I will post those needs here, also.

Books - International shipping is expensive, but electronic or audio books have no shipping costs. I am building an electronic and audio library to replace some of the hard copy books I had to dispose of before leaving the States. I have replaced the Bibles, but there are some reference, devotional, and biographical books that I would like to obtain in an electronic version.
Christian Audio has many excellent audio books, which are good for devotionals and biographies. I prefer Kindle or PDF books for commentaries and other reference books so that I can add my notes to the books.
- Amazon.com gift card by email – Amazon is the primary source for Kindle books, which I can download internationally.
- Amazon Wishlist items - You can purchase an item from my Wishlist as a gift and have it sent to me electronically. Please be sure to select the Kindle edition on the list, not a hard copy version.
- ChristianAudio.com gift certificate – Gift certificates start at $10. I can download the audio books internationally.
Clothes and Miscellaneous Items - If you would like to help provide clothing or other items for me, please let me know or check my Amazon Wishlist. I will update the list periodically as needs arise, particularly during the few weeks before the scheduled trip to Tegucigalpa of a friend or mission team who could deliver some items to me.
Buy from the Acts 2:42 Ministries Store – The Acts 2:42 Ministries International Store provides a quick and easy way for you to fulfill your needs or desires for books, CDs, DVDs, Kindle accessories, and almost everything else Amazon.com sells. When you buy, I receive a small referral fee. So, if you buy from Amazon, please start going to the Acts 2:42 Ministries International Store first. One restriction is that Amazon will not pay me for any item that is purchased for me. So, if you want to buy me something from my wishlist, please just use the wishlist link (this also will keep the wishlist updated with purchases that have already been made). Also, I do not receive any fee for purchases made from the Amazon Marketplace. You can still order through my links and Amazon will credit my account for the part of your purchase that is eligible for the referral fee.

United States (San Antonio, TX)
During my trips back to the States, I will need a place to stay in San Antonio. I will likely be in the States for two-four weeks, but not necessarily in San Antonio the whole time. If you can provide housing for one or more nights, please submit a contact form, and I will get in touch with you as I begin planning each trip. I fully understand there will be times when you will not be able to provide housing, and I am not asking anyone to commit to always providing housing.
I expect my next trip to the U.S. will be during September 2013, and annually thereafter.
Honduras
Honduras is located in Central America and borders Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatemala. With a per capita income of approximately $3100 per year, Honduras is one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere. One out of five people cannot read.
If you, your family, friends, or other group would like to spend a few days to a few weeks serving the Lord with the people of Tegucigalpa, please fill out and submit a contact form, so we can discuss possible projects with which you can help. I will make every effort to provide opportunities for people who do not speak Spanish.
